The rapid advances in technology and the collection of data have vastly transformed our world since September 11, 2001.  Policing is not immune from these transformations.  Name a technological advancement that can be considered an improvement to policing, but also address the negative aspect of the advancement (in other words, address the pro and con of the advancement).

First comment

I think one of the best things that police use now is social media. In this day in age, everyone has a phone that allows them to record videos and photos in an instant that the police can use to investigate. They can also put out information in an instant and the Internet spreads things out fast so if people share it they may find who they are looking for.

Criminals even ought themselves on social media sometimes so they can use that information to bust them. I think it is negative in the sense also that when a cop does something wrong it paints them in a negative light overall. For the most part, cops aren’t bad but the system, they work for isn’t good either which is why they need to be

There are a lot of police advancement in the US. One that I would say is the two-way radio, which police can talk or communicate to each other in a faster way with each other. The con of the two-way radio is when a criminal where we had a lot of cases during black live matter protest when the protestors got the police radio and was talking with other police cops in radio.

This is a con because they can hear what all the police department is talking about, about all the crimes that are occurring in the city, and for example criminals can inform their people to let them know what is going on in the department which is not right thing.
