Descriptive Analysis
This is an analysis of the results from the SPSS analysis of data from Afro barometer dataset file. From the data set file, the continuous variable was “financial condition.” The results are shown in the table below. According to the statistics table, the mean is 6.2. According to Frankfort-Nachmias & Leon-Guerrero (2020), this is obtained by determining the sum of the scores and dividing it by the No. of scores. The table shows a median of 2.00. It represents the distribution’s precise middle diving it into two equal parts one below and the other above the median. There is also the mode, which is zero. The mode is the category with the highest frequency within the distribution.

The mean, median, and mode are the three measures of the central location and form a summary measure, which describes the entire data set using just one value representing the middle of the distribution. The mean is regarded as the best and most utilized measure of central tendency. It is the average value, which divides the distribution into two equal parts one at the bottom or below the mean and the other at the top or above the mean. The variance is the average of squared deviations from the mean, and it measures variability. It shows the data set’s degree of spread. The data has a standard deviation (square root of variance) of 9.442. A variable is a data item or characteristics, quantity, or number, which can be counted or measured. The data’s variability includes values between 0 and 200. The description of the data is a continuous variable that has variability, an interval ratio measurement level, as well as mean, median, & mode. The research question, which could inform social change can those involving the financial status of people in society.

“Gender” is the data set’s chosen categorical variable. Frankfort-Nachmias & Leon-Guerrero (2020) defines a frequency distribution as a table that reports the no. of observations falling into each of the variable’s category. The interquartile range is the most suitable variation measure for data sets with outliers (Wagner, 2020). This is because it is not easily influenced by outliers considering that it is based on values, which come from the distribution’s mid-half. The data is a categorical variable with no variability, a nominal degree of measurement. Social change can be informed by the questions regarding gender.
