Living Organisms and Their Physical Environment DiscussionNeed assistance with the following discussion board question (Part A & B):Part A:There are many viewpoints on human ecology – or in other words, where do humans fit into thepicture. A classic debate has been on the question: Are humans’ part of the ecological world orare we above it? To what degree do you think ecological processes influence human lives? Towhat degree do you think we are able to overcome ecological pressures? Please providedetailed responses and interactions.Part B:Provide feedback to 2-3 classmates.Classmates DB's:1. Katelynn HagadornThis week we learned about our ecosystem as well as how humans play a part. Accordingto What Is Ecology (n.d.), an ecosystem is a geographic area that includes all types of nonlivingparts and organisms of their physical environment. Ecosystems can also be either large or small. When asked if we as humans are part of the ecological world or above it I would say we are partof it. Across the world, many civilizations have different beliefs and opinions about theecosystem and our world in general. For example, some countries are okay with dumping trash on the ground or into the oceanwhich harms our ecosystem. Or they are okay with overfishing, oil spills, and air pollution whichalso harms our ecosystem. Some other countries are against these types of harmful effects onour ecosystem creating laws in place or new solutions to help our ecosystem moving forward. However, as a world full of different countries and views, it is important to all come togetherand agree these types of harmful effects do not help our ecosystem. As humans, we are leavingbehind a damaging imprint as well.I do think we can overcome our ecological pressures. If we all come together and formulate aplan to move forward, I think it could work. Not only would we form better understandings, butwe can also come together and save both our ecosystem and world from going into extinct. Ifwe don't do something within the next couple of decades, we may in fact lose resiliencyentirely.Living Organisms and Their Physical Environment DiscussionOne of the major effect’s humans partake in is climate change as well as global warming.According to the Environmental Protection Agency (2016), climate change forces species tomove to higher elevations where they can survive in their environment. This causes animals anddifferent species to compete or go extinct. Furthermore, it also affects human survival whenanimals that are used for food sources are depleted. This is why it is important to start now tohelp our ecological world while we still can.References: Living Organisms and Their Physical Environment DiscussionEnvironmental Protection Agency. Ithelps to understand connections between plants, animals and the world around them. Ecologyalso provides information about the benefits of ecosystems and how we can use Earth’sresources. Humans are part of the ecosystem. Humans depend on resources such as sunlight,Living Organisms and Their Physical Environment Discussionsoil, water, and air for survival. Humans tend to change the ecosystem around them by buildinghouses and stores. As a result, some species can no longer live in the same environment as humans forcing themto find another place live or even worse death. Humans tend to have negative impacts on theecosystem. Human activity has left a large carbon footprint on the Earth with overpopulation, pollution, over fishing and deforestation. These changes have triggered climate change. Manyecologists have been trying to find ways to help reverse these changes because without ahealthy ecosystem we may not be able to sustain life on Earth. The ecosystem plays a crucialrole for living organisms.
