If you were in your 20s-30s in 1994-1996, what parts of the post-communist system would be difficult to accept for you? Why?
This is a personal perspective: what faults would you find difficult to accept in the transitionary period of capitalism in Russia?
– Seeing state-owned assets being sold and transferred to oligarchs as the poor lose wealth and starve.
– Disillusioned with Western propaganda of luxuries and capitalism, but not receiving the same benefits in post-communist 90s Russia.
– The revolts and violence that occurred in the East Bloc.
– The corrupt elections, disillusioning the concept of democracy.
