Purpose
You will build a subsnet group, construct and configure an RDS instance, run a read replica, promote a primary instance replica, destroy the primary original instance and, if necessary, keep the snapshots! You now have a strong framework for understanding the configuration and management of RDS databases with this information.
Click on the ‘Lab search in Linux Academy’ link in this laboratory area to start the laboratory. Type the lab name “Create and configure a Backup Solutions RDS database.” You click on the name of the laboratory and select Start Lab. You can also select the laboratory guide if you need to have a hardcopy of your laboratory instructions.

Section 1: Section 1.
You have numerous relationship databases on-site for the company you are working for today that range from several hundred gigabytes to several terabytes. Most databases are considered daily OLTP processing systems and night batch processing. The database motors are Oracle and SQL server, the newest versions of both database systems.
Write a 2-page paper on alternate Oracle and SQL Server database cloud options and describe various migration processes involved in shifting from your on-the-job databases to your respective cloud database solution. Would it be a good fit for Amazon DynamoDB? Why not? Why or why not?
Section 2: Section 2:
Your work for a corporation that maintains the sales of products from thousands of convenience stores across the USA. Hourly sales analysis is crucial to understand the trends and purchasing habits of customers. This is also necessary for its distributors to understand how low inventory levels are stored efficiently and cost-effectively. The difficulty is that owing to latency problems the data is lagging behind and most of the systems are antiquated.
Write a 2-page paper on the following:
What kind of database instance of Amazon RDS could address your problem? Why?
How might Amazon Read Replicas reduce problems with internet latency?
What other cloud options beyond Amazon could help to alleviate some of their present problems? Explain.
Section 3: Section 3
Write a research paper at university level that includes the following:
This week, your lecture deals with a cloud migration approach. This task will expand your cloud migration understanding. Your task is to outline six aspects of the migration strategy (Analysis; Application; Networking; Data Migration; Optimization and Testing; and O&M), and how your organization will effectively implement your migration to the cloud using your proposed plan. You can choose to write about a fictional corporation or a company that you know about. Write a 2-page paper following the aforementioned standards.
