History and biology intersect at the point wherebiology, or rather all science, moves forward while looking to the past. Allexperimentation and discovery lead with focusing on past problems and what has notworked yet to solve those problems. Early medical doctors had to look back and realizethat the practices of their ancestors were not sufficient, or incomplete, to tackle thecurrent issue they faced in their present time. In modern times, looking back on theproblems with infections led to the discovery of infection-causing bacteria and thedevelopment of sterilizing agents to keep operating rooms in hospitals clean.Post 2There are many ways to approach this prompt, which is quite frustrating but I think thathistory and biology are tightly intertwined subjects. We can study the history of biologythrough the study of evolution, the study of geology and radiometric dating, along withmany other types of studies. Biology, or rather the study of biology has been notedthroughout history, long before the idea of evolution was proposed. Despite thecreationist mode of thought, people have noticed similarities between species and/orother interesting natural phenomena. Within the study of geology, the formation ofrocks/structures is highly impacted by biological factors, in which these studies can tellus lots about the biology the existed in the past (biological history).Biology and Society History of Double Helix Discussion
