Directions for Final Exam Project This exam is intended to test how thoroughly you can respond to a topic based upon what you have learned in class and what research you can obtain from outside the course material.
Your grade will be based on (1) content provided, (2) your analysis of the content, (3) the extent to which your follow the structural requirements of writing a formal essay. Note, the exam is not timed and is more in the nature of a final project.
Below is a selection of essays for you to pick from. You are to pick one out of this list. Your answer is to be formal research essay of 4-5 pages following the APA or MLA guidelines for writing essays in which you address the essay question as thoroughly as you can using information from the textbook and outside sources that you feel will help you answer the questions. Note, you may use ebooks, journal articles, etc. from the web but you cannot use encyclopedias (no wikipedia!!!!), online papers, etc. You must cite the sources you use following the guidelines set out in the APA or MLA guidelines. This means using parenthetical citations. A work cited list for the essay should be included at the end of each essay.
The exam must be uploaded into the canvas system no later than thursday, may 20th . Note this is a hard deadline. No extensions are possible nor late submissions allowed. It is highly suggested that you plan on submitting your exam a few days early just in case there are any problems you encounter so as to leave enough time to make any needed adjustments.

Tell me whether you think that movement has been successful and where it was not successful.
- The Watergate Scandal brought down the administration of Richard Nixon in 1974. What was this scandal and why were Nixon’s actions so terrible that he was forced from office.
- The Vietnam Conflict was the most controversial war in American history since the Civil War. What led us into this conflict and what arguments were given by the Anti-War movement for why we should have gotten out of that war? Do you think the protesters were right or wrong?
