Why do some corporations choose to set up factories in places like Mexico, Bangladesh, or Indonesia? How do corporations benefit from taking their factories outside of first world industrialized nations?

Why might the workers continue working at the factories despite the challenges they face? The short clip below is a clip from the film Maquilapolis: City of Factories (the entire documentary is uploaded on You tube if anyone is interested). The filmmaker gave women in Tijuana cameras to document their lives working at factories that make electronic products like Sony, Panasonic, Sanyo etc.
