The New York Recruitment CEO’s Top 3 Tips for Job Seekers – Employment
There are fewer and fewer decent employment to be had in these difficult times. In current recessionary environment, there is a lot of rivalry for available jobs.
I recently spoke with Ken Sondheim, President of KAS Placement, LLC in New York City, on job seeking tips. An innovative approach to sales and IT hiring was the goal of KAS Placement, formed five years ago by Ken Sundheim. KAS has expanded at a rate of around 100% each year since its inception and is committed to providing excellent service to both its clients and potential employees.
Here is Ken’s solution to my most pressing question:
QUESTION: Ken, what would be your top 3 suggestions to somebody seeking for a job in current recessionary environment?
THE ANSWER FROM KEN IS:
The world is not about to end, so keep your head held high and your feet on the ground. Throughout our nation’s history, we have always emerged from recessions stronger than before. As of right now, I’m seeing a lot of candidates panicking about what to do with their free time. It is common for the top candidates to mask their worry and conduct themselves as they would in a normal market during economic hardships.
While getting a job may be difficult, we aren’t in the depths of a depression, and there are still plenty of well-paying positions out there for the taking.
Take your time, and don’t rush it. Savvy persons are prepared for times like these by constantly conserving money, so they don’t have to accept any employment. Keep an emergency fund in case of another economic downturn in the future if you didn’t do so this time around. You may calm your anxiety and make more informed decisions about which interviews to pursue by taking the process a step at a time, rather to settling for a fly-by-night firm that underpays and may not succeed in the long run.
