Mistakes to Avoid When Looking for a Job: The 3 Worst Mistakes for Job Seekers
As an insider’s look at the job market in these tough economic times, my conversation with New York City’s Ken Sundheim, President of KAS Placement, LLC, was eye-opening. An innovative approach to sales and IT hiring was the goal of KAS Placement, formed five years ago by Ken Sundheim.
What are the three most common blunders made by job seekers?
Answer:
Having a loss of composure. When times are tough, many individuals are caught off guard and scramble to find work as soon as possible in order to make ends meet. In both their interview speech and actions, one’s self-imposed pressure is evident. Consequently, they are seen as an unsuitable prospect.
Inability to start a new business or acquire new skills because of the downtime. Everyone has a business idea, and now is the best moment to pursue it. If you’ve always wanted to explore an idea, get off the sofa and do your best. Consider taking a class, learning a new language, or reading instead of starting a company.
Make unending phone calls to potential employers and employees to vent your frustrations. If you want to get a job, you shouldn’t pester those who are attempting to help you get one. There’s nothing to be concerned about if you’re determined, smart, and competent at what you do.
