Grammar is extremely important, so make sure your writing is clear and concise. If I find grammatical errors in a candidate’s resume, I know they haven’t proofread their work.
There are some resumes that are too vague and don’t give enough information about what a person did and what they accomplished while working at the listed position. To me, phrases like “provided excellent customer service” are meaningless platitudes to be taken seriously. I’m looking for statements like, “achieved quota 8 out of 9 quarters while gaining important Fortune 500 clientele such as GE, Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers.”

Third, I look at how long a candidate has been at each job before deciding whether or not to hire them. Many of my customers won’t consider applicants who have a history of changing jobs frequently as credible options.
In a job interview, what are the three most important questions a job applicant should bring up?

When getting ready for a job interview, what are the worst fashion and attire mistakes to avoid?
Answer:
Wearing a suit that hasn’t been professionally dry cleaned. Suits, shirts, and ties should be kept in excellent condition and worn only for the most important meetings. You’re less successful in the eyes of the interviewer if you’re dressed shabbily on a daily basis.
- Arriving in a non-formal outfit. Always put your best foot forward as a man by donning a suit, shirt, and tie. Women’s clothing is no exception to this rule.
- Dressing in a way that makes you feel less than confident. The best thing to do is leave the clothes you don’t like at home and wear something you do like. You will be less effective if you don’t feel good about your appearance.
