Delisle posted Mar 7, 2022 1:12 Decision-Making Class, HR is constantly changing and evolving, even more so since the covid pandemic. We have been more dependent on technology than even before with employees and administration being remote, more so now with more hybrid positions evolving. Our employees have had to become more tech savvy with
being in a virtual environment, having to learn new programs like zoom and Microsoft teams. Besides employees having to understand how to use new and emerging technology, HR has to learn how to manage and check in with employees as well as create virtual training and learning modules that are effective. You also want new employee to connect with
another coworker and feel like they are a part and understand companies’ goals and mission, which becomes even more challenging when not onsite. and we have even seen some people retiring and a younger demographic entering into the job market. HR functional within the technical competency domain of the workplace will continue to be impacted as
employees as now they are accustomed to working remote. Employers and HR will have to look at whether jobs can be done remote or hybrid to be able to continue to recruit. Also, HR may need to make sure that when looking at new talent that they hire people that can work by themselves and have technical skills needed to be remote. We have seen here that
some of your larger businesses are keeping employees remote and downsize the amount of rented real-estate for they don’t need the space. In saying that they have had to increase the number of IT they have on staff to be able to adequately assist employees with technical needs. HR will have to evaluate that they have the correct amount to people onboard and
dedicated to assist with these needs. HR management defines the HR organizational structure and the HR model and strategies. HR managers ensure that you have the adequate amount of administrative support are well as other employees. HR needs to be a part of future planning and creation of future goals. This help HR be able to identify what skills and talent
are needed to meet these future goals. HR also will able to implement training to equip employees with the tools needed for future development and new technology

How? I, personally, think recruitment and retention are going to be important items to
address in the future. I believe that if employers are not willing to make adjustments that allow a proper work-life balance and/or consider the effectiveness of remote work that employee retention might be at risk. I also think, in today’s environment recruitment is quick difficult, at least in my industry it is. It has been hard to even get applicants to apply and show
up for interviews. I think this is something that will be impacted as we move forward in the way the world is trending. What HR functional areas within the technical competency domain of workplace do you believe will be impacted the most by future trends? How? Similarly, to what I stated above (because everything intertwines), I think that finding the balance
between remote staffing and onsite staffing will be interesting. With the pandemic things changed to require staff to be remote, if possible, through mandates and recommendations. As we are moving out of the pandemic (hopefully) we are seeing employers bring staff back onsite. I think finding the balance of how often you need works onsite vs. how often you
can permit remote work will be a key balancing act moving forward. What HR functional areas within the technical competency domain of organization do you believe will be impacted the most by future trends? How? I think organizations are going to have to make adjustments to internal procedures and policies. I think that the way in which the world is changing
will cause the need for organization to rethink their approach when managing and addressing staff. I think that looking at internal procedures and re-evaluating them is key to a successful organization. Thanks! ~Amber G
